Kanjira Videos:

This is a solo based on Max Roach’s composition “For Big Sid”. I have chosen to employ the Cooperman Kanjira, L.P. Djembe, Bell, Bongos and Sabian Hi Hat cymbals. The bridge borrows from Max Roach’s composition “The Drum Also Waltzes”. I’m using a variety of non traditional approaches on the kanjira including exploiting the pitch variation and Italian Tamburello strokes. I hope you enjoy this world/jazz hybrid.
